Mac’s Mission is a rescue service for dogs with special needs that is situated in Jackson, Missouri. Rochelle Steffen is the founder of the organization. Across the country, the small nonprofit organization saves dogs who would otherwise be put down for euthanasia. Young puppies with cleft palates or hydrocephalus, as well as senior dogs like Lindt, make up a significant portion of the population.
The dog, who was 14 years old at the time, was given up to a shelter by her owner, who explained that she was transitioning into an apartment and therefore could not keep her. The elderly dog is completely devastated and terrified by her new environment. She is beyond heartbroken.
