The fact that stretching should be done both before and after carrying out any activity is not something that should come as a surprise. First, you should get your muscles ready for the tension that you are going to apply to them, and then you should relieve the strain that your muscles are currently experiencing.
Increasing your range of motion, strengthening your muscles, and reducing muscle stiffness are all benefits that can be achieved through stretching. It is also a method for tuning into your body and understanding how it is feeling, which is another benefit of this approach. When I think about stretching, I like to think of it as giving your body dessert after you've eaten. Providing your body with something that it desires makes you feel even better, and it is something that your body craves. Do not deprive your body of its sweet fix!
