A stray dog that had been wandering around the base was encountered by Army Sergeant Charity Webb, who was working as a cook in Europe at the time. Webb was 29 years old at the time. In the end, the dog gave birth to puppies, one of which was extremely timid when it came to the soldiers.
In a short amount of time, Webb fell in love with the teeny-tiny puppy, who also expressed a liking for her. Among the soldiers there, Webb was the only one who was able to hold her without her weeping or being very anxious.
For several weeks, Webb provided her with sustenance and worked to earn her trust by demonstrating that the soldiers would only assist her and would not cause her harm.
However, it is terrible that there were others in the world who were eager to cause her harm. In order to avoid being killed by dog catchers, Webb frequently had to conceal the dog, whom she named Pup Pup. Dog catchers are eager to eliminate any strays.
During the period that Webb was in Europe, she and Pup Pup built a very close attachment, and during that time, Webb realized that she could not abandon this link. On the other hand, when it came time for her deployment to come to an end, Webb was concerned that Pup Pup would end up being murdered without her presence.
During that time, she became aware of the non-profit organization known as Paws of War, which is dedicated to reuniting United States veterans with the animals that they had cared for while serving their country overseas.
Due to the fact that the charity is entirely dependent on contributions, they were need to wait until they had sufficient funds to send the puppy to the United States, which is estimated to cost approximately $7,000. As a result of an article published in the New York Post, Paws of War was able to not only gather sufficient funds to send Pup Pup to the United States, but they also generated sufficient funds to rescue a couple of additional dogs!
It was a heartwarming moment when Webb and Pup Pup were finally reunited after being separated for a number of months.
When Pup Pup saw her new permanent mom, she immediately flipped over onto her back and wiggled her tail. This happened as soon as she stepped out of the van.
