During the first night of 2006, which was a night in New Hampshire that was bitterly cold and snowy, Foxy made an unanticipated appearance in my life. Upon opening the door in order to let the dog out, I saw a calico kitten that was clinging to the outer screen of the storm door. The kitten was thin and partially frozen. Despite the fact that she weighed two and a half pounds, the knobs of her spine were easily visible, and the bones in her pelvis protruded upwards like the fins of a 1957 Chevrolet.
Foxy taught me about bravery, how to take assistance with thanks, and how to reward it with loyalty. I may have opened my house and my heart to her, but she taught me about courageousness. It was demonstrated by her that there are situations in which the will to survive is the only thing that can make a difference between life and death.
There have been many animals that I have liked, but she is the very first one that I have ever admired and aspired to be like. I pray that she will continue to be by my side for a very long time.
