We had no desire to have another dog. Considering that we have already been selected by a number of cats that live outside, which we have had fixed, and whom we love and care for, we are not surprised. Our family also includes a chocolate lab, two rescued guinea pigs, and one indoor cat. The chocolate lab was given to us by her previous family when they were unable to keep her because they had to relocate.
I massaged her ears, and she snuggled in next to me with her chin on my knee. At that moment, I fell in love with her. During the night, I provided her with food and a place to sleep. After almost a month has passed, Gidget has been spayed, is receiving adequate nutrition, and is highly loved. My poor husband has come to terms with the fact that Gidget will be staying with us, and our three daughters are thrilled that we now have two dogs. Playing with her, taking her for walks, and spending quality time on the floor with her and our other dog are all things that I like doing at the same time.
