The unlucky dogs who are forced to fend for themselves on the streets or spend their days in shelters that are gloomy and chilly are fully aware of the fact that not everyone’s life is a sunny one.
Bunny, a Pit Bull, was spared from such a destiny when, as a puppy, she was adopted by a family that treasured her and made her a member of their family. However, her life took a dramatic turn for the worst when she became infected with tetanus, an extremely uncommon and potentially fatal condition. The body of Bunny became utterly immobile, and the only part of her that was able to move was her tail. Bunny’s parents felt that they had no other option but to give up their daughter when they were confronted with this tragic circumstance. They had exhausted all possible options, but none of them were successful, and they decided that euthanasia was the only alternative that made sense. Ali Thompson, Bunny’s veterinarian, was not willing to give up on her so easy regardless of the circumstances. An great choice was taken by her: she brought Bunny back to her house to take care of her.
Ali experienced the most difficult time in his life during the three weeks that he spent in intensive care. Due to the continual convulsions and anguish that Bunny experienced, around-the-clock care was essential for her.
