On the other hand, even in the midst of the agony, there was still optimism. In spite of the fact that it was once seen as being unnecessary and lonely, the dog now holds a special place in the hearts of a great number of people. The dedication and concern of people who rescued it made it possible for it to find a home that would be there for it for the rest of its life. Their affection for one another and their shared belief that no animal should ever be abandoned and allowed to starve brought them together, despite the fact that they were not related by blood.
